March has always been my least favorite month. It is not longer than any of the other 31-day months but it feels like a month and a half by the time it is done. It is also a confusing month here in New England where winter and spring seem to meet as awkwardly as two 13-year olds at a junior high dance. In this part of the county, March's in like a lion and out like a lamb reputation can not be truer some years. The one and only redeeming quality of this month in my mind is that it often can provide amazing ski days. The lion and the lamb meet to bring soft spring snow under foot and warm sunshine radiating through crystal blue skies. But this March, the skiing has been so-so due to lots of rain. We've had a few sunny, warm days but nothing to write home about. So I am ready for spring. I am ready for bulb plants to show their stuff and for ground to turn from pale brown to a vibrant green.
I am more excited for this spring and summer than I ever have before. And if you've followed this blog, we've had some pretty insane summers the past few years. This summer however, I believe we will be getting a referral for our third child and second daughter.
So on with it. I am ready. Let's go already. The nursery is coming together. I am starting my 100 Good Wishes Quilt. I can feel her in my soul.
